Gorgeous Gals Love Gold

Gold jewellery never goes out of style. Gold jewellery is an accessory for all seasons. The shiny bling draws attention and gives a sophisticated look. Also, it makes strong statement and it’s luxurious.
Types White & Yellow Gold jewellery comes in different colours—white and yellow. There is also the platinum, which is of higher grade.
Gold quality Gold jewellery never goes out of fashion. Dunni Olunloyo, a jeweller in Abuja, talks about the peculiarity of the gold jewellery: “It can be worked into nearly any shape, from tiny strands that do not break easily to very thin sheets. One ounce of gold can even be hammered into an ultra thin sheet that is ten feet square.”
The question now is: How pure is your gold jewellery? Chances are the ring on your finger, the chain on your neck, and the bracelet, could be marked 18K, 14K, or 10K. The K stands for karat. It is a system used to describe the percentage of pure gold an item contains. The higher the karat number, the higher the percentage of gold.
• 24K gold is pure gold. • 18K gold contains 18 parts gold and 6 parts of one or more additional metals, making it 75 percent gold. • 14K gold contains 14 parts gold and 10 parts of one or more additional metals, making it 58.3 percent gold. • 12K gold contains 12 parts gold and 12 parts of one or more additional metals, making it 50 percent gold. • 10K gold contains 10 parts gold and 14 parts of one or more additional metals, making it 41.7 percent gold. 10K gold is the minimum karat that can be called ‘gold’ in the United States.
When wearing gold accessory
Avoid glitters! Less is more. Your dressing should be simple. Try to pair gold jewellery with clothes of neutral hues (burgundy, emerald green, purples and deep blues). Consider your facial shapes: Never think it is weird to attach jewellery with the face. Truth is, your face shape has a lot to do with your jewellery especially your necklace. A long chain enhances a squared or round shape face. People with long neck will look more elegant in a short necklace around the neck. A choker necklace will be attractive for those with oblong/rectangular faces.
Skin colour: This also dictates the type of jewellery to wear. Gold jewellery is more flattering on light skins. That does not mean dark complexions should avoid gold.
Watch perfume, make-up! Endeavour to apply your make-up, hairspray and perfume before wearing your gold jewellery. Hairspray and other makeup products make gold sticky therefore attracting dust and taking off the shine.
